Current Opportunities:

We are currently seeking surveyors to fill two positions, as well as a part time draftsperson:

  • Senior Surveyor

The applicant should be an experienced graduate with at least two years New South Wales cadastral experience in Australia and a genuine desire to become registered in NSW.

The position includes field and office work and the responsibility of managing large residential subdivision projects from "greenfield" to completion.

The applicant should be able to show sound knowledge of applied survey skills and be capable of handling the day to day running of a project. The applicant needs to be self motivated, enthusiastic and have an ability to deal with our clients in a pro-active and professional manner with minimal supervision.

Your duties will include road and drainage design for the developments. It is therefore imperative that you have a sound knowledge of that aspect of the work.

The successful applicant will be required to have a construction industry OH&S "Green Card", as well as a Railway Industry Safety Induction (RISI) certification. If you do not already have these cards, we will arrange the training for you.

YSCO Geomatics uses the LandMark suite of survey calculation and design software. Experience with LandMark (including the road and drainage design components and the interface with the DTM) would be a definite advantage.

Due to the location of some of our projects, you will be required to occasionally overnight near the job.

The salary package is negotiable dependant on experience and ability and includes a mobile phone and a possibly a vehicle.

If you are ultimately seeking registration in N.S.W., you will find that the work available to you with YSCO GEOMATICS will be of enormous benefit.

  • University Graduate Survey Party Leader

The applicant should be a university graduate with Australian party leading experience, including Australian cadastral experience. An understanding of the N.S.W. cadastral system is a necessity.

The position includes field and office work. The applicant should be able to show sound knowledge of applied survey skills and problem solving. The ability to prepare legible and complete field notes for the survey work undertaken is of critical importance and should not be underestimated. The applicant needs to be self motivated, enthusiastic and have an ability to deal with our clients in a pro-active and professional manner with minimal supervision. The work includes typical "domestic" surveying, therefore requiring knowledge of boundary definition, and also large scale subdivision work, from "greenfield" to completion.

The successful applicant will be required to have a construction industry OH&S "Green Card", as well as a Railway Industry Safety Induction (RISI)certification. If you do not already have these cards, we will arrange the training for you.

Note that Saturday morning work on construction sites is an occasional possibility but by no means the norm.

The salary package is negotiable dependant on experience and ability and includes a mobile phone.

  • Survey Draftsperson

This position is a full time position - or perhaps 3 or 4 days per week if you are very efficient at time management. Our office is completely computer oriented. Our plans are currently prepared using the AutoCad package (currently using 2007 Release). A sound knowledge of the use of this software application is essential.

There is an occasional requirement to prepare some sketch plans and amendments to older plans in freehand. The successful applicant should also have the ability to draft freehand (without stencils).

As well as the normal plans for lodgement at Land and Property Managemetn, our office prepares road and drainage design plans for large urban developments. Plan sets can total up to about 50 sheets. The ability to understand and prepare engineering design plans is an important component of the work.

The position is required to be filled by late January 2012.

The salary package is negotiable and is dependant on experience and skill.
